Agreement
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Waypoint Institute website and online learning platform (together, the “Services”), operated by Waypoint Institute (“Waypoint,” “we,” “us”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
What Waypoint provides
Waypoint provides teaching only: online courses, instruction, learning materials, and related discussion and feedback. Waypoint does not itself grant degrees, diplomas, or accredited academic credit. Any other institution decides for itself whether to recognise or accept coursework completed with Waypoint. Course offerings, schedules, faculty, and features may change over time.
Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under 18, you may use them only with the involvement and permission of a parent or guardian.
- Access to the learning platform is through sign-in with a Google account. You are responsible for keeping that account secure and for activity under it.
- The information you give in applications and on your account must be accurate and kept up to date.
- Admission and enrollment are at Waypoint’s discretion.
Tuition and purchases
Waypoint courses are offered tuition-free unless a course or program clearly states otherwise before you enroll. Purchases from our store are governed by the terms, prices, and shipping information shown at checkout, and are fulfilled and processed by third-party providers.
Academic integrity
Work you submit must be your own, and sources must be properly credited. Do not share quiz answers or submit work produced by others, including AI tools, as your own unless your instructor allows it. Instructors may give no credit for work that breaks these expectations, and serious or repeated violations may lead to removal from a course or the Services.
Community standards
Messages, forums, and other shared spaces are for learning together. When using them, you agree not to:
- harass, threaten, demean, or impersonate others;
- post unlawful, obscene, or hateful content, spam, or advertising;
- share other people’s personal information without their permission;
- upload malware or try to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorised to use;
- interfere with the operation or security of the Services.
Respectful disagreement is welcome. We may remove content or suspend access that breaks these standards.
Content and intellectual property
Courses, lessons, videos, readings, and other materials provided by Waypoint belong to Waypoint or its licensors and are protected by copyright. You may use them for your own personal study. You may not copy, sell, publicly share, or republish them without our written permission.
You keep ownership of the work you submit and the posts you write. You give Waypoint a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and use that content to run the Services, assess your work, and support your course. We will not publish your coursework outside the platform without your permission.
Privacy and cookies
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. It includes the Cookies section, which describes the essential cookies used to keep you signed in.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if needed to protect others or the Services, or if we stop offering the Services. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limits of liability, survive termination.
Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We work to keep them accurate and available but do not guarantee that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suited to a particular purpose. Course content is educational and is not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Waypoint Institute and its staff and instructors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Idaho, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
